It’s been a long time coming, but Facebook is about to launch something that could change the face of Facebook as we know it. The Facebook metaverse will be as big as Facebook itself and might even rival other current virtual worlds such as Second Life.
In order to enter the Facebook metaverse, you will first need a Facebook account in order to log in. Facebook users will be automatically assigned a Facebook metaverse account which you can choose what name you want it to be under, much like the Facebook usernames that are currently available for Facebook users.
Once you have a Facebook metaverse account, then it is time to enter the Facebook metaverse. You’ll first need to download Facebook’s free android app, Facebook Home. Facebook Home will open up a new portal to the Facebook metaverse. Once you are in Facebook Home, simply login to your Facebook metaverse account and then choose “Go Metaverse” from the menu.
You’ll be prompted for what sort of avatar you want to use, there are currently two options available Facebook Avatars or Facebook Stickers. There are other Facebook stickers that are still being worked on, so expect more Facebook sticker packs to become available.
Once you have chosen your Facebook avatar or Facebook sticker, then it’s time for face installation. Facebook Home will install the face that was chosen at login into your Facebook metaverse avatar. Facebook metaverse avatars can also be changed at any time and you can choose which Facebook face use for your Facebook metaverse account.
There will be a number of Facebook products that will cross over into the Facebook metaverse including Facebook Messenger, Facebook Events, Facebook Gifts, and more! With all these Facebook amenities not to mention Facebook Home itself, Facebook metaverse users are almost certain to be overwhelmed by the Facebook experience.
Facebook has also confirmed that there will be no Facebook ads in the Facebook metaverse for at least a year, so you can enjoy Facebook without any annoying advertisements getting in your way. This is just another obvious attempt by Facebook to keep Facebook metaverse users happy with their favorite social networking site. It’s still too early to tell what kind of revenue Facebook plans on making from the Facebook metaverse but it seems like they finally found out how to make money off something which isn’t advertising-based – transactions!
Of course, this is all speculation about how Facebook plans on making money off the new service; only time will tell if they’ll actually follow through with their plans. Facebook metaverse might just be Facebook’s biggest step yet into the future!
Facebook has already opened up applications for developers to start creating Facebook metaverse apps. It may still be a while until you’ll be able to use these Facebook metaverse apps but there are already many Facebook properties available in the Facebook metaverse including Facebook Messenger, Facebook Events, Facebook Gifts, and more! With all these Facebook amenities not to mention Facebook Home itself, Facebook users are almost certain to be overwhelmed by the new experience.
